Giants win over Jets, well done!

The Giants 29-14 victory over the Jets mathematically eliminated the Eagles from playoff contention It also made their game with the Cowboys meaningless for both teams. Blue Ahmad Bradshaw Jersey The Giants (8-7) would win the NFC East with a victory over the Cowboys (8-6) next week at the Meadowlands.
“I hate to use that clich, but this is a huge one,” Giants left tackle David Diehl said “This is about the city, the city of New York, and what team wants to be responsible They have talked all week and said what they wanted to say From Day 1, they’re our big brother and other stuff We went out there and played our game and showed whose stadium this is. ”
Ryan said the Jets were the better team the last two years, based on their consecutive trips to the AFC championship game and the Giants missing the postseason. Tom Coughlin responded by saying, “Talk is cheap Play the game. Authentic Victor Cruz Jersey ” It was the Giants who did.
The Giants kept their postseason hopes alive, helped by Victor Cruz setting two franchise receiving records and Ahmad Bradshaw running for two touchdowns While neither team looked much like playoff material, the Giants (8-7) are now in position to win the NFC East with a victory at home next Sunday against Dallas.
Giants running back Brandon Jacobs said he had an exchange with Ryan after the game in which the coach approached him, used an expletive, and said, “Wait till we win the Super Bowl”.
Added Jacobs: “And I told him I’ll punch him in the face I told him out of all these Giants players on this team, you’re talking to the wrong one And that was that”.
The back and forth went on even in the hours before the game, when Jacobs and kicker Lawrence Tynes both removed black curtains placed by the Jets over the Giants’ Super Bowl logos. Ahmad Bradshaw Men’s Jersey The Jets said it was simply their standard practice to cover those logos for every one of the team’s home games, regardless of opponent.
The Jets’ playoff hopes took a devastating hit, and at 8-7 they’ll need to win at Miami next week and get major help from several other teams They have to hope for Cincinnati and Tennessee to lose, and have either Oakland or Denver lose.
Cruz, who had three catches for 164 yards, broke Amani Toomer’s season mark for yards receiving – and the team’s record for longest touchdown reception, a 99-yarder that gave the Giants the lead for good in the second quarter.
It was a brutal game at times, with both offenses sluggish and prone to mistakes The Jets were also penalized 10 times, including a late-hit call on Aaron Maybin, who plowed into DJ. Size:56 Victor Cruz Jersey Ware in the fourth quarter – a play on which Coughlin was injured out of bounds The Giants coach needed to be checked out on the bench before limping back to the sideline.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning finished 9 of 27 passing for 225 yards Mark Sanchez completed 30 passes on a career-high 59 attempts, but put up only 258 yards and was intercepted twice.
Cruz’s 99-yard catch – the longest pass in team history – came with the Giants in dire straits facing third and 10 from the 1 Manning, standing in the back of the end zone, zipped a pass to Cruz, who dodged tackle attempts by Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson and took off down the right sideline to give the Giants a 10-7 lead with 2:12 left in the opening half.
It was also the longest offensive play against the Jets in team history Now the Jets will prepare for the Dolphins – and keep their fingers crossed. Eli Manning S Jersey

John Mara will walk out of MetLife Stadium around 5 pm Saturday, Eli Manning Jersey Blue get in his car and make the familiar drive from East Rutherford to his Westchester home where he will celebrate Christmas Eve with his family.
Mara’s mood that night, whether frightful or delightful, will determine the direction of the Giants for years to come
If his holiday is filled with cheer and good tidings, bathed in a brilliant (and blue-tinged) afterglow of a freshly-minted victory over the Jets, Mara will no doubt raise a glass to Tom Coughlin for a present that keeps on giving.
Mara always scoffs at these declarations, shakes his head at the win-he-stays, lose-he-goes stake that gets hammered into the heart of too many games in too many seasons. The history, the track record handed down by his late father, Wellington, is one of stability and continuity. Ahmad Bradshaw Jersey Authentic The Giants have had five head coaches in the past 28 years and three general managers in the past 32 years.
Wellington Mara always set as a minimum standard for a season that the Giants play meaningful games in the month of December If the Giants lose to the Jets and the Cowboys beat the Eagles, the Giants are eliminated from playoff contention and the New Year’s Day showdown with the Cowboys will be a meaningless game in a lifeless stadium Wellington Mara always said he could take the boos because it was the sound of passion. Apathy was, and is, the true enemy.
Any game against the Jets is unlike the fight with the other 30 NFL teams There is added significance and emotional surges coursing through the organization whenever the Giants beat one of their division rivals Ten days ago, Blue Victor Cruz Jersey Mara’s head nearly hit the roof of Jerry Jones’ football palace when he erupted out of his seat after Jason Pierre-Paul’s blocked field goal at Cowboys Stadium.
There is nothing quite like the Jets to bring out what, at times, feels like a sophomoric yearning for supremacy These teams are MetLife Stadium business partners in the same vein that Jimmy Darmody and Manny “Munya” Horvitz were allies in “Boardwalk Empire” Can you say Unholy Alliance? The Giants don’t mind the Jets as long as they stay in their place, behind the long-standing and rightful monarchs of the city’s football throne.
Fassel did wonders for himself by going 2-0 against the Jets, pounding Bill Parcells’ club in 1999 and winning in overtime in 2003 in what turned out to be Fassel’s last victory.
How different? Fassel listed the two regular-season games against the Jets as the second- and third-most pressure-packed games he ever coached with the Giants The first? Authentic Ahmad Bradshaw Jersey The 2000 playoff opener vs the Eagles.
The appetite for a coaching search is just not there, but two more losses that would make it seven out of eight forces Mara to answer the question he always asks of his team: Is the arrow pointing up or down? Three straight non-playoff years and three straight fade-outs down the stretch will strain even Mara’s patience and commitment to Coughlin.
Mara would rather not have to justify the decision to bring Coughlin back he prefers it come naturally That means Mara needs something more than a Hess truck (it’s back and better than ever) under the tree this year A gift-wrapped victory over the Jets is on the list It’s Coughlin’s job to bring it home.
Tuck was always considered a leader-by-example type when he was getting 12 sacks a season Now? Not so much As always, Reebok Victor Cruz Jersey the most effective leadership is getting into the end zone, or making sure the opponent does not.

New York Giants can still make playoffs?
Posted under Giants Jersey , New York Giants Jerseys by Sofia Green
The Giants know that. Not at this stage of the season. Victor Cruz Youth Jersey In a division game in December, with their playoff hopes still on the line, there’s no reason for them to come out flat.
That’s both the simple truth and the simple problem the Giants (7-6) face as they take on the Washington Redskins (4-9) at the Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon. What they are supposed to do, if they truly are a playoff contender, is beat this Redskins team that has been eliminated from contention. They know they’re the better team, even though they lost in Washington in the season opener. Brandon Jacobs Size Even safety Antrel Rolle said the Giants would beat the Redskins 99 out of 100 times they played.
But when is the last time the Giants did something they were supposed to do, particularly at home? Just this season alone, they barely beat a winless Dolphins team, couldn’t beat a dead Eagles team and lost to a Seattle team that had lost nine straight games in the Eastern Time Zone.
It’s no wonder why this game — sandwiched between the Giants’ emotional, season-saving win in Dallas last Sunday night and their high-stakes, Taylor Jersey much-hyped showdown with the Jets next Saturday — looks like such an obvious trap.
Even with so much at stake for the Giants, could they really fall into one again?
Five of the Redskins’ nine losses have been by eight points or fewer and they’ve been destroyed by injuries and a minus-14 turnover ratio. There’s potential there, though, Bradshaw Jersey as the Giants saw in the opener when embattled quarterback Rex Grossman shredded their secondary for 305 yards in a 28-14 win.

That was a long time ago, though, and with the Redskins now out of contention — after their narrow, 34-27 loss to the Patriots last Sunday — there’s no way to tell if they can muster enough energy to embrace the “spoiler” role. The Giants are at least saying they don’t believe a division foe will come into the Meadowlands to roll over and play dead.
The Giants need to win, actually, because their remarkable 37-34 win in Dallas didn’t secure anything other than a temporary hold on first place in the NFC East. They lost that on Saturday night when the Cowboys (8-6) reclaimed the division lead, beating the reeling Bucs in Tampa. Manning Jersey The Giants need a win to keep pace.
They must focus on the division crown, with the NFC wild-card chase on the verge of being out of reach. The Atlanta Falcons (9-5) won on Thursday night, and the Detroit Lions (8-5) play at Oakland on Sunday. Both teams lead the Giants and have an edge in the tiebreakers.
That’s why, as Rolle said several times in the last few weeks, “We have to win out.”
Every loss the rest of the way makes the Giants’ road to the playoffs a little bit tougher. And this would be a demoralizing loss. Putting four straight losses in the past, the Giants have done so much to restore their confidence, not just with the win in Dallas, but with their near-win one week earlier against the undefeated Packers. Tuck Jersey They feel like they’re back. They feel like they saved their season.

Giants not buying it ahead of Sunday’s NFC East clash!

NY Giants brace for division showdown with Cowboys
Posted under Giants Jersey , New York Giants Jerseys by Sofia Green
Kenny Phillips yesterday was sent for tests on his left knee, to which he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament during Sunday’s 38-35 loss to the Packers. The Giants are hoping that is the full extent of the injury and that Phillips, their starting strong safety, can salvage a game or two this season.
How can it be when each team is terribly flawed and has been staggering through the season trying to make it to the finish line in first place?
It’s certainly not like the 2007 divisional playoff game the Giants won at Texas Stadium by surviving two passes by Tony Romo into the end zone in the final 21 seconds of a four-point victory, or the final game of the 1993 season at Giants Stadium when the Cowboys beat the Giants Bradshaw Jersey in overtime to win the NFC East and the No. 1 seed in the conference.
But the stakes are still enormous. This ultimately could be the NFC East championship game. The Cowboys are 7-5 and have a one-game lead over the Giants even though Big Blue has lost four straight. It’s not often 6-6 teams get to play for first place.
“You don’t worry about records at this point. You worry about the next game,” Eli Manning said Monday. “ Jacobs Jersey You worry about where you stand. This is a huge game coming up. Everything is right in front of us and that’s all you want. You never set a goal to what your record is going to be. You set a goal to win the division. We got a shot to do that and we got a big game, an exciting game and one we are looking forward to.”
Dallas could have been up two games with a chance to win the division by beating the Giants, but Jason Manning Jersey Garrett essentially iced his own kicker at the end of regulation in Arizona, taking a 49-yard field goal off the board. Rookie Dan Bailey then missed with two seconds left and the Cowboys lost in overtime, keeping their NFC East lead at just one game.
Thanks to Garrett’s mishandling of the final seconds, the Giants have a chance to sneak back into a first-place tie with the Cowboys – and hold the tie-breaker – with a victory. If the Giants can also beat Nicks Jersey the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Jan. 1, they would be assured of winning the NFC East as long as they split against the Redskins and Jets in their other two games. Mathematically, the Giants don’t have to sweep Dallas to win the NFC East, but they can’t get swept.
Considering the Giants are four games deep into their annual second-half collapse and are still in control of their own destiny, that’s all you need to know about the sorry state of what used to be the best division in the NFL.
In August, the Giants surely would have signed up for a first-place showdown in Dallas in the 13th game of the season.
The Giants are 2-0 at Cowboys Stadium. They won the first game played there in 2010 and last year Michael Boley broke Romo’s collarbone. The Giants didn’t make the playoffs either year, but a victory Sunday night takes them one step closer.
“Obviously, we got off to a fast start in the season and won a lot of games and that’s helped keep us in position Tuck Jersey to be fighting for the division,” Manning said. “A lot of times, that’s all you can ask for. When you get into December, you want to be playing important games. Every one is important right now and none bigger than this one, playing against Dallas, who is the leader in the division right now. But we got a chance to change that. This is going to be a fun one.”
Tom Coughlin was unusually chipper on Monday despite the heartbreaking loss to Green Bay and the four-game Giants Jerseyslosing streak. “This is obviously a big game in the division, in Dallas, for first place in the division,” he said.
The Giants are collapsing but the Cowboys are stumbling. Should be a great game – albeit not a classic. Come on, New York Giants! Support New York Giants!!

The Giants were implored last Wednesday to play better by a former star, Michael Strahan, Jacobs Jersey whose lively address to the defensive line was so loud it could be heard two rooms away. On Thursday, Perry Fewell, the defensive coordinator, lambasted his entire unit. He ripped the players for giving an incomplete effort in their last game, then did not hesitate to tell reporters about it, an out-of-character development for a generally mild-mannered coach.
Volume was a recurrent theme for the Giants last week, and for much of Sunday at MetLife Stadium, it continued. Facing the undefeated Green Bay Packers, the Giants kept the crowd of more than 80,000 fans at full throat on an afternoon when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were expected to impose a perpetual quiet.
When the Giants tied the game with just under a minute remaining, the stadium, which was hushed during so many disappointing home efforts this season, Tuck Jersey seemingly exploded, the seats seemingly reverberating in the chilly evening.
But the Packers – as they have done so many times this season — ultimately shined late, and the Giants — as they have done so often recently – could not finish the job. After standing stout all game, the Giants’ defense was helpless at the end. Rodgers went 68 yards in five plays, and the Giants lost on the final kick of the game. When Mason Crosby’s 31-yard field goal sailed between the uprights to make it Packers 38, Giants 35, the stadium, all of a sudden, was silent.
It was a bitter defeat for the Giants, Manning Jersey who vowed all week that they would accept no moral victories. At the very least, the Giants (6-6), now losers of four games in a row, remained only a game behind the Dallas Cowboys in the N.F.C. East. Dallas lost to Arizona on Sunday. The Giants travel to face the Cowboys next Sunday night.
After the way Drew Brees played last Monday against the Giants, it was reasonable to assume that there would be a similar result Sunday. But Eli Manning kept pace with Rodgers, completing 23 of 40 passes for 347 yards and 3 touchdowns, and the Giants’ defense, despite missing Osi Umenyiora, kept Rodgers on the move, knocking him down six times.
It was just not enough. Manning found Hakeem Nicks for a touchdown pass in the third quarter — a one-handed catch that was so impressive cornerback Charles Woodson even gave Nicks a high-five afterward — and then again with 58 seconds remaining to cut the Giants’ deficit to 2. But even after D. J. Ware ran in the 2-point conversion, it seemed that the Giants might have left Rodgers too much time. The Giants went that way early, Giants Jerseys with Manning completing a 67-yard touchdown pass to tight end Travis Beckum just over a minute into the game. The Giants’ bench erupted, with players pouring off the sideline as the fans roared, and Beckum sprinted excitedly toward the crowd after making his first catch since Week 3.
But Manning felt the pressure that comes with the Packers’ penchant for jumping in front of would-be receivers, too. On the first play of the second quarter, linebacker Clay Matthews picked off Manning’s pass near the left sideline and jogged into the Giants’ end zone from 38 yards out as Manning gave futile chase. It was Manning’s sixth interception in five games.
Nicks caught an 11-yard pass on the first play after the turnover, then Brandon Jacobs bulled in from the 1, getting a good push from an offensive line that was without Will Beatty and center David Baas, who was a late scratch with headaches. Nicks Jersey Kevin Boothe moved from left guard to center while Mitch Petrus made the first start of his career at left guard.

The New York Giants will travel to the Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints for Monday night football this November 28, 2011 at 8:35 PM ET in week 12 of the NFL season.Manning Jersey
New Orleans is home favorite with a point spread of -7 along a total over/under line of 51 points. The Saints come from a bye week after winning on the road in Atlanta with a score of 26-23 and covering the spread being +1 underdogs. The total score went under the 49% points line.
While Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are ready to return and make their push for the postseason, Jacobs Jersey Eli Manning and the New York Giants are again having trouble in the second half of a season.
Brees will try to help the Saints remain perfect at home Monday night and hand Manning and the sputtering Giants a third straight loss.
New Orleans (7-3) has not played since a 26-23 overtime win at Atlanta on Nov. 13. The Saints are 4-0 at home, where they’ll be for the majority of their games the rest of the way as they try to maintain a one-game NFC South lead over the Falcons.
New York (6-4) held a two-game NFC East lead before losses the last two weeks to San Francisco and Philadelphia have helped surging Dallas take a one-half game lead in the division. Cruz Jersey The Giants managed season lows of 29 yards rushing and 278 of total offense in their lowest-scoring effort of the year, a 17-10 loss to the Eagles last Sunday night.
It’s been a common theme for the Giants, who had late-season collapses the last two seasons to miss the playoffs. They have turned in worse second halves than first halves in each of coach Tom Coughlin’s first seven seasons.

Brees leads the NFL with 3,326 yards passing and his 23 touchdown passes are the league’s third-most. He’s 3-0 in his career against the Giants, with seven touchdowns, no interceptions and a 65.5 completion percentage with his team winning by an average of 22.0 points.
Manning leads the league with a 120.5 fourth-quarter passer rating and is sixth in the NFL with 18 TD passes. Tuck Jersey He’s already been sacked 19 times — three more than last season — as the Giants’ revamped offensive line continues to struggle.
The Saints, meanwhile, have a stable of running backs to choose from to complement Brees and the passing game. Either rookie Mark Ingram or second-year pro Chris Ivory will be inactive despite being healthy, with the other joining veterans Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles on the active roster.
New Orleans ranks eighth in the league in yards per carry at 4.6 compared to New York’s league-worst 3.2 mark.
New York is currently 6-4 overall with a record against the spread of 4-5-1 and second in the NFC East. The Giants have an edge with a pass rush that is tied for the most sacks in the league with 31. Giants Jerseys Their defense will be hampered, however, if middle linebacker Michael Boley misses a second straight game with a hamstring strain.
Good luck,New York Giants!

Giants’s Most Important Game of 2011
Posted under Giants Jersey , New York Giants Jerseys by Sofia Green

This weekend on Sunday Night New York Giants will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to MetLife Stadium in what is one of the most important games of 2011 for both teams. Manning Jersey
The Giants are coming off a close loss to the 49ers—one that they let slip away with a late turnover—and the Eagles are coming off an embarrassing home loss to the Cardinals.
Both teams will be motivated to show the national audience what they are made of, and this slide show will highlight five reasons why this is the most important game of the 2011 season for the Giants. Bradshaw Jersey
The Eagles have had one of the most disappointing seasons in their history, and it can all pretty much come to a complete end if the Giants come away with a win.

At 3-6 the Eagles have little chance to make the playoffs, Jacobs Jersey but the fact that some have still considered it a possibility shows how much hype they had coming in to this season.
If the Giants can give them that seventh loss, it will be all she wrote.
Easily the biggest reason this is the most important game for the Giants is the NFC East winner could very well be decided by division record.
The way both the Giants and Cowboys are playing it is hard to believe either team will sweep the other, so there would be no head-to-head tie breaker. Nicks Jersey
Sweeping the Eagles would not only give the Giants a confidence boost entering their two huge games against the Saints and Packers, but it would allow them to keep pace in the division.

Many eyes will be watching on Sunday night, and the Giants will be out to prove they are legitimate contenders.
One way to get them to stop asking about it is to simply win a game you’re expected to win. The Giants have been known to have let downs at home, Tuck Jersey and if it happens again you can be sure Coughlin will hear about the second half collapses even more.
I will support New York Giants forever! How about you? Do you love New York Giants??

On the bulletin board inside his locker, Manning Jersey left tackle David Diehl has gotten in the habit of hanging up 8.5-by-11-inch printouts of the head shots of the players he’ll be matched up with that Sunday.
This week, in particular, those faces resonate with Diehl — and the rest of the offensive line. The Giants are preparing for a divisional showdown Sunday night at the new Cowboys Stadium, and Ware especially is a disruptive pass-rusher who led the league with 20 sacks last season and has said he’s eyeing Michael Strahan’s single-season mark of 22.5.
But the Giants’ offensive line — considered one of the best in the NFL — also has the unpleasant memories of its last trip to Texas. In the Giants’ 20-8 loss last December, the Cowboys’ defensive front outmaneuvered them for a season-high eight sacks of quarterback Eli Manning.
“It was a bad day,” Diehl said. Tuck Jersey “Back then, we were man enough to stand up and say it wasn’t a good game, and we’re man enough to do the same. The only thing you can do now is make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
As of yesterday afternoon, the Giants’ linemen hadn’t yet reviewed the tape of that game, though center Shaun O’Hara said they were expecting it to be “tough eating that pill again.” Manning was sacked by Ware on the Giants’ first offensive play — and lost the football, though left guard Rich Seubert recovered — and the hits kept coming for the rest of the night.
According to an unofficial review of the game tape, guard Kevin Boothe gave up three sacks, Diehl gave up two, right tackle Kareem McKenzie and running back Ahmad Bradshaw each gave up one, and Seubert and tight end Kevin Boss shared responsibility for another one — though it can be hard to determine missed assignments with certainty.
The offensive line wasn’t playing at full strength that night: Boothe came in for McKenzie after he left with back spasms, and Seubert was battling a bout with the flu and was eventually replaced by Grey Ruegamer. And while the Giants had already locked up the NFC East title, the Cowboys were trying to earn a wild-card berth.
“Still no excuse though,” Bradshaw Jersey right guard Chris Snee said. “Obviously they have a very talented group, and when you’re matched up one-on-one, which is what they try to get you to do, they have some good pass-rushers. They beat us on that night.”
Ware, who sacked Manning four times over two games last year, is their premier pass-rusher. He lines up at outside linebacker on the weak side of Dallas’ 3-4 defense, so Diehl and McKenzie will primarily be charged with him. The Cowboys had a scary moment in their win against Tampa Bay last week when Ware lingered on the ground after tackling tight end Kellen Winslow, but he is not on this week’s injury report.
Their pressure comes from more players than just Ware, though. The Cowboys led the league with 59 sacks last season, and Manning was sacked by Dallas 12 times in 2008, nearly half of the 27 times he hit the turf the entire season.
That’s one overarching lesson learned from last year. Jacobs Jersey The offensive line will “make notes,” Snee said, on the particulars to be learned from the film of the sour eight-sack game. Coach Tom Coughlin indicated the problems weren’t so much in the scheme but more the Cowboys bringing a better focus and physical effort to the field.
This time around, when Diehl looks those Dallas defenders in their eyes, he’s eager for a different result.
“We’ve got a prideful group,” Diehl said. “That’s not our offense. That’s not our offensive line. We’ve learned from those games.”
